IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please click on the Google Classroom icon below this message. Here you will find a user guide and a video which has been created to support you when accessing your child's daily lesson resources from Monday 25th January. Please note: lesson resources will be available to you on Google Classroom but also uploaded to the school website next week (25/1/2021 - 29/1/2021). From Monday 1st February, we will stop uploading to the website and only send lesson resources via Google Classroom.

Many thanks,

Blackwood School

All group Meet sessions are on an invite only basis.

If your child has been selected for an afternoon Meet session, you will receive an email notifying you of this at least 24 hours before the meet.

This is just to notify you that your child has been chosen for the afternoon Meet. You will not receive the Meet link within this email.

5 minutes before the afternoon Meet session, log in and wait for the teacher to post the link into your stream.

Only contact the year group via their year group email if you are experiencing any Meet issues. Please do not contact the school office.

Just to make you aware, in the event of staff absence, Google Meet sessions may need to be cancelled. If this happens, you will be notified before the session in due to start.

Year 2 Remote Learning

Here you can find work for your child to complete should they need to work from home. The work provided will mirror what is being taught in school.

For each day there will be:

  • 4-a-day – rehearsal of + - x ÷ methods
  • Maths
  • Literacy
  • A foundation subject

There will be daily videos uploaded and we will also be using Google Classrooms soon for some live sessions.

Please continue to hear your children read regularly. The Oxford Owl website is particularly useful to support your home learning in regards to reading (https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/).  You can sign up for free and your child can access eBooks of their current level.  There are additional activities provided online for each book.

Below is a suggested timetable of how you may wish to plan your week:

Please click on the relevant week's learning below.

Each week will contain possible sheets your child could use. However you may also wish for your child to write answers to these sheets on plain paper to reduce the need for printing.
