'Loving Learning, Learning Skills for Life'

R.E

Welcome to the Summer term.

I hope you have a restful half term and enjoyed the sunshine safely.

I will be uploading new work and look forward to seeing what you have done by sending it to year1@blackwood.walsall.sch.uk

Keep on keeping safe,

Mrs Leadley

Work for the week beginning 13th July.

Do you ever celebrate special times or people with a meal together?

This week we're looking at how it is important for people at The Gurdwara (Sikh temple) to come together to share a meal.

Have a look at the power point and design your own langar meal.

Work for the week beginning 6th July.

Have you ever been asked to look after something for a friend? Look at the story of Duni Chand and have a think about what The Guru was trying to teach him.

Work for the week beginning 29th June.

This week we're thinking about another Sikh Guru.

Look at the power point and ask someone to read you the story.

Can you make a cloak like Guru Hargobind's?

Work for the week beginning 22nd June.

This week We're thinking about how things or pictures can tell you a lot about someone. For example, we know that we belong to Blackwood School because of your green uniform and Blackwood badge.

Look at the power point and learn about how people can tell that someone follows the Sikh religion.

What badge, picture or object would you make to tell someone else about what you think is important?

Work for the week beginning 15th June.

This week we're still staying with the Sikh religion and thinking about an important man called Guru Nanak. He was the first Sikh Guru (teacher of Sikh people.)

Have a look through the power point and have a go a deciding what you would call a book about this important person. Maybe you could write more about him around the book.

I am looking forward to seeing your work.

Mrs Leadley.

RE for the week beginning 8th June.

We are going to be looking at one of the world religions called Sikhism. The people who follow this religion are called Sikhs.

This week I would like you to have a look at five important ideas and objects for Sikh people.

If this is your religion then I would like you to draw the Nishan Sahib and tell me why it is so important.

RE for the week beginning 1st June.

Have you noticed lots of insects whist you have been in the garden or park? Here is a story about ants from the Muslim religion. It think about how to treat all the animals in the world.

I look forward to seeing your work from this week.

Mrs Leadley
