Medication in School

Medicines in School

Teachers cannot give children medicines but we do have some members of staff who can administer prescribed medication where the dosage required is four times daily or more and if the child is well enough to be in school.

Medication prescribed three times a day will not be administered by school staff as they should be administered by a parent/carer before school, immediately after school and at bedtime.

Please be aware that the school will not administer pain relief (Paracetamol or Ibuprofen).

Medication forms (available below) must be fully completed by a parent and submitted to the school office before medicines will be administered.

Do not give your child any medicines to keep with them during the school day.
