Lesson 2 –Catch it

Today I would like you to research all about meerkats. You will be focusing on their;

  • Appearance
  • Habitat
  • Diet
  • Interesting facts

If you would like to do an additional paragraph of your choice, then this is something that you can do. You might choose to also talk about their behaviour.

In order to research about meerkats, you can choose to browse the internet (with either an adult present or adult permission) or you can use the fact sheets that I have provided below. You may even choice to use both along with any notes that you gathered in yesterday’s lesson.

As you are finding information, you may want to create a key for each category. For example, appearance could be red, habitat could be blue and diet could be green. When you read something about their appearance you might want to underline it in red. Then you can transfer the information into the correct box in the table below. I have left two of the boxes without a title in case you want to make extra categories but you don’t have to.

Remember when you are transferring information, you don’t need to write in full sentences. We are only gathering research and organising it into different categories so it only needs to be written in note form. Tomorrow we will be turning our notes into a non-chronological report.
