Monday 27th April 2020

  • Practise reading all of set, 1, set 2 and set 3 RWI sounds using the PowerPoint documents (see below) Set 1 sounds, Set 2 sounds, Set 3 sounds. Make a note of any sounds that child is not confident with and if you would like further support, please contact me.
  • Open document '2nd 20 high frequency words' (see below) and recap reading all 20 words. Make a note of any words that your child is not confident with and practise these. If you would like further support, please contact me.
  • Read the 'Letter from the three bears' (see below) to your child and think about the following questions below with them.

1. Why are they writing it?

2. What do you think they were most upset about?

3. How do they think Goldilocks should be punished?

4. Do you think Goldilocks should apologise?

  • Practice this weeks spellings (see below).

 

 

Tuesday 28th April 2020

  • Practise reading all of set, 1, set 2 and set 3 RWI sounds using the PowerPoint documents (see below) Set 1 sounds, Set 2 sounds, Set 3 sounds. Make a note of any sounds that child is not confident with and if you would like further support, please contact me.
  • Open document '3rd 20 high frequency words' (see below) and recap reading all 20 words. Make a note of any words that your child is not confident with and practise these. If you would like further support, please contact me.
  • Recap the letter from the three bears from yesterday (see below).
  • Pretend you are Goldilocks. Write a note or a card to say sorry to the bears. You may use lined paper from home.

  • Complete today's daily writing challenge (see home learning page).

Only look at the letters 'i' 'l' 't' 'c' 'a' 'd' 'e' 'r' 'm' 'n' 'h' 'u'.

The rest of the letters shown are not how we form them in Year 1 at Blackwood.

  • Quiz your child on this weeks spellings.
  • Extension activity - complete the 'Long and short vowels' spelling sheet (see below). Use the two handwriting links from Wednesday and Thursday above to help your child form their capital and lower case letters correctly.

  • Complete today's daily writing challenge (see home learning page).
  • Use the two handwriting links from Wednesday and Thursday above to encourage your child to form each letter correctly.
