At Blackwood School we strive to instil in our children a love of learning which will extend beyond their years of compulsory education and enrich the rest of their lives. Whilst with us, we endeavour to pinpoint the learning needs of each child and provide them with lessons which will help them to meet those next steps in their learning and progress successfully along their learning path. To enthuse our children we choose topics which will surprise, excite and appeal to their sense of curiosity.

We aspire to develop our children to be rounded individuals, brimming with spirit, energy and a zest for life. At Blackwood School our children learn the importance of manners, to respect others and to be tolerant of the views of others, to work together, to care for each other and to be confident in themselves and their abilities.
We value each of our children for their individuality and the contribution that they make to our school family. Being a pupil at Blackwood School is not just about a successful, academic primary education it is about acquiring the key skills and qualities which are the foundation for a happy and successful life. As we say to our leavers at the end of year 6, “Once a Blackwood child always a Blackwood child.”
