Towers, Tunnels and Turrets

Something very unusual has been going on in year 2 since the start of term. One morning the children were told that there was something strange spotted on a tree in the field. They decided that they just had to find out what the strange object was. They all poured onto the field in excitement trying to locate this mystery object. Eventually they found it... an old fashioned letter pinned to a tree. The letter was from a princess who had been captured by a wicked witch. In the letter she described where she had been taken. The children shrewdly worked out that she must have been taken to the tall tower of a castle. They decided that they had better investigate and so they have decided to learn all about castles to help this mystery princess.

The Mysterious Letter

The Princess Escapes!

After learning about castles for a few weeks the children made another startling discovery. After an assembly, pink sparkly footprints were found in class 2B leading up to another old fashioned letter.

The letter said that the Princess had escaped the tower and that she'd traveled to Blackwood school for more help. The wicked witch was still after her so year 2 had to work fast to find and rescue her.

To their relief they had found the Princess. Just as the children thought it was Princess Rapunzel. The children were able to help the princess to escape and then write about the events in their literacy books. What an exciting journey it had been and now they can't wait to discover even more about the fascinating world of 'Towers, Tunnels and Turrets'.
