Maths Resources

Maths in Year 6

We have put together a selection of resources to assist families and children to access, learn and revise the range of maths skills assigned to their year group should they wish to use them. Our priority continues to be the well-being of children at Blackwood School and to support our parents. So, these resources are not intended to create extra stresses for our families but are to continue building on the strength of the relationship between school and home and to support the children in maintaining their confidence in mathematics.

Year 6 Maths Curriculum

  • Year 6 Maths Curriculum This link shows all the maths skills that should be embedded within Year 6 broken down into small steps. This resource can be particularly helpful where specific features of an area of maths are difficult for a child to understand.
  • The Maths Dashboard The Dashboard is an invaluable resource. The website has broken down the Maths SATs into each skill and every question has a video tutorial explaining how to work it out!

Please find a guide for each of the core skills of mathematics in Year 6.

  • Hit The Button If you play through the internet browser, this free game is a great way to quickly recall multiplication and division facts for times tables.
