'Loving Learning, Learning Skills for Life'

RE

Work for the week beginning 18th May.

I hope you are all doing ok at home and helping out where you can.

This week's work is all about The Good Samaritan story from The Bible. At the moment there are a lot of people trying to follow the values in this story and help their neighbours out. I am looking forward to seeing your work.

Take care of yourselves and others around you.

Mrs Leadley and Mrs Guest.

Work for the week beginning 11th May.

Dear all,

I hope you enjoyed your V.E. Day celebrations. It's also the holy month of Ramadan where Muslim people fast during the day, pray more and think about how they can help other people.

This week I am challenging you to find out about the Hindu festival of Holi. Can you make a poster or an information sheet for me all about the celebration?

Looking forward to seeing your work on the Year Five email.

Take care of yourselves and remember to do something to help someone else today.

Mrs Leadley and Mrs Guest.

Mrs Leadley and Mrs Guest.

RE

Week 1/2

We're moving on to looking at communities from local to global.

When you are taking your daily walk or looking on Google Earth at your local area, try and count how many religious building you can see and what different types they are.

Have a look at the power point. How do you think migration has benefited your local, national and global community?

Alternatively, have a look at this interview. What can you find out about Ramadan and how it will be different this year? https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/23286976

Please send me any ideas, questions or work to year5@blackwood.walsall.sch.uk I would love to see what you've been doing.

For those who have been celebrating, Happy belated Vaishakhi and Ramadan Mubarak.

Take care,

Stay safe,

Mrs Leadley and Mrs Guest.
